The Beatles Sessions album
In 1985, EMI put the word out that a new Beatles collection, titled Sessions, would be released early in the year. It would feature a collection of outtakes and completely previously unheard recordings, taped in the studio between 1962 and 1969. At the last minute, its release was quashed, and that was the last anyone heard of those songs (including “Leave My Kitten Alone” and “If You’ve Got Troubles”) for another ten years and the Anthology package.
I recently spoke with Ghosty Timors over at WFDU’s Vintage Rock and Pop Shop about Sessions; you can hear the discussion here.
Here’s an earlier conversation we had about Beatles literature.
